First Nations Development Institute announces the 16th Annual First Nations L.E.A.D. Institute to be held in Albuquerque, New Mexico
LONGMONT, Colorado (August 16, 2011) - First Nations Development Institute and First Nations Oweesta Corporation are pleased to announce that the 16th Annual First Nations L.E.A.D. Institute 2011 National Conference will be held October 26-28, 2011, in beautiful Albuquerque, New Mexico at the Sandia Resort & Casino.
The primary focus of this year's conference is, “Take Action! Asset Building at the National, Community and Family Levels”. This event is a collaborative effort between First Nations Development Institute and its wholly-owned subsidiary, First Nations Oweesta Corporation.
The First Nations L.E.A.D. Institute is a major component of First Nations' innovative Leadership and Entrepreneurial Apprenticeship Development (L.E.A.D.) program, which is designed to provide mentorship and training to emerging Native nonprofit leaders. The institute provides training and networking opportunities for Native nonprofit and philanthropic professionals.
Any individual or organization that is interested in learning more about Native nonprofits and/or Native American philanthropy is invited to attend the First Nations L.E.A.D. Institute. The conference has three training tracks:
- The Big Picture: Movements and Trends that Impact Tribal Economies
- The Community Lens: What’s Working in Tribal Communities
- Bringing Families into Focus: Asset Building Starts with Individuals and Families
Attendees have the option of attending sessions in just one track, or they may customize their experience by selecting from any of the sessions that interests them.
